20 Mar Easy ritual for the Spring Equinox
Awaken to life
There are times of the year that invite us to pause, observe the subtle change of the seasons, and connect with the natural cycles that surround us. The spring equinox is precisely one of these transitions: a perfect balance between day and night, between light and shadow.
As the Earth awakens from its period of dormancy, something within us also begins to stir. The forces that slumbered beneath the surface begin to emerge. The sap rises through the trees, buds emerge vigorously from the soil, and the birdsong multiplies in a symphony that announces rebirth.
What better time to renew ourselves than when nature as a whole shows us the way?
At our spring retreats, you can come and deepen your listening to nature and to your inner self.

A ritual to start fresh
We propose a simple yet profound ritual to honor this moment of transition. You don’t need to be an expert in rituals or have special materials. The value lies in the intention to take a moment for yourself and contemplate the energy of Spring.
What You’ll Need
- A notebook or a simple sheet of paper
- A pen or colored pencils
- A quiet space (in nature or in your home)
- 30 minutes of time just for you to cultivate the mindfulness energy
Remember:
Nature isn’t only found in forests or rivers. Even in the heart of the busiest city, it is present in your life: in the wood of your furniture, in the paper of your books, in the plants you care for, in the water you drink, and in the air you breathe. There is no place where you cannot connect with it.

The Step-by-Step Ritual
- Find Your Sacred Space
Whether it’s in a park, by a river, or simply in a quiet corner of your home, find a place where you can feel welcomed and calm. Spring is a time of expansion and creativity, so choose a place that inspires you.
- Awaken your senses
Start with a silent walk or a short meditation. Breathe deeply and allow your senses to open: listen to the sounds near and far, perceive the aromas, feel the wind on your skin, the rays of the sun, and so on. Let nature speak to you through these sensations.
- Collect with respect
If you are in nature, carefully and respectfully collect small items/treasures you find along the way: fallen twigs, interesting stones, dried leaves, or wildflowers (always with respect, taking only what the earth offers without damaging them).
If you are at home, gather natural elements you have on hand: crystals, minerals, stones, candles, seeds, small plants, fruits, or flowers.
- Create your spring altar
With the collected elements, create a small altar or mandala. Let go of the need to achieve aesthetic perfection. Allow yourself to play and express your creativity freely, as a child would. This moment of creation is in itself a form of meditation.
- Connect with the Flow
Observe the movement in nature: the water in the river, the tree branches and leaves dancing in the wind, the clouds gliding across the sky. If you’re at home, contemplate the subtle dance of the candle flame or the incense smoke.
This constant flow in nature reminds us of the importance of letting go to make room for the new.
- The Divided Leaf Ritual
Take your sheet of paper and draw a vertical line dividing it into two parts:
On the left side (the shadow side): Write, draw, or express in any way what you wish to let go of, what no longer serves you, the patterns you want to transform, the fears that limit you.
Breathe deeply. Pause.
On the right side (the light side, the side of what is to come): Capture your desires, your dreams. These are the intentions you want to cultivate in this new spring. They don’t have to be grand ambitions; sometimes, small changes are what move us forward.
- Seal your intention
Fold the leaf and keep it in a special place: under your altar, in your journal, or anywhere meaningful to you. This leaf contains the energy of your intention and will serve as a reminder of your desires for blooming.

A New Beginning
At the end of this ritual, take a moment to give thanks. Give thanks to spring for this opportunity for renewal and to yourself for this time of deep listening.
May this equinox mark the beginning of a period of growth, creativity, and expansion in your life.
