Karma Yoga can be practiced from the start until the end of the day. It is an opportunity to do any action in a mindful, skillful and harmonious way. Enjoying the present moment, without expecting any reward from it. The fruit is in the presence and joy of living in the moment.
The act of offering our services without searching for a reward purifies the heart, developing humility, sympathy, tolerance, compassion and love.
A program for people who have availability of time. They are either unemployed, on holidays or going through a transition period in their lives, without the economic means to attend a long stay retreat. Above all, it is addressed to people with the desire to collaborate, learn and deepen their practice in an environment of close community and yoga.
This program is designed for people interested in attending a long term retreat, aiming to:

During the stay, the karma yogi will do an average of 6-7 hours of daily meditative work (karma yoga) and will be able to participate in some retreat activities. The invitation is to apply and practice the principles of yoga studied during the retreat (yamas, niyamas, etc…) while doing the house tasks. The nature of these chores will depend on the time of the year the program runs.
We mainly need support in our kitchen and housekeeping departments but depending on the skills and the season each participant comes, they might also be trained in to help in tasks such as gardening, DIY, management, translations, office, etc.
NOTE: There are periods when there are no retreats scheduled. During those days there will be a meditation (not guided) every morning and a time of self-practice of yoga or any exercise that each one prefers. The rest of the day will be collaborating for 6 hours with tasks and projects of maintenance of the house and gardening. Once a week there will be a full day trekking guided.
IMPORTANT: Karma Yoga – Volunteer program require committed people, with energy and a desire to collaborate about 5 hours per day during their stay.
If you are passing through fatigue, depression or any complex emotional situation we would recommend you to attend a Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat to have more time and space for yourself.
Places are limited. Some people make a big commitment and plan for long time to be able to come.
We recommend to attend a regular retreat at Casa Cuadrau before participating in this program. If you haven’t done so, we can offer you a discount to attend a retreat and then continue your stay as a volunteer.
To secure your place, we require a deposit of 100 euros, that will be refunded at the end of the period you committed to.
