"The wisdom of the plants" - Yoga & Nature Retreat to celebrate Summer Solstice

"The wisdom of the plants" - Yoga & Nature Retreat to celebrate Summer Solstice with rituals of fire, dancing and singing circles

"How did the rose ever open its heart and give to this world all of its beauty? It felt the encouragement of Light against its being; otherwise we all remain too frightened."
-Hafez (sufi poet)

Activities

There is one yoga class per day. Yoga classes are for all levels of practice. The sessions combine Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga principles, as well as movement and mobility exercises. There will be some sessions more gentle with Yin Yoga practice.

Yoga classes are progressive, variations for different levels of practice and particular limitations are always offered.

Meditative walks and hikes are esencial practices in our retreats. They are very simple and accesible for everyone.

They help us to understand, through experience, our deep connection with nature. It makes us notice in each step and in each breath, that the energy that exist inside us it is just the same as the energy that exists out there.

Nature is our greatest teacher. Silence and deep listening helps us enrich the experience She offers.

There will be a daily 90 minute meditative walk in nature, opening the senses and developing mindfulness.

One day will be dedicated to a Forest Bathing and another one to a Meditative Hike, starting just after breakfast and coming back for a gentle yoga session. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the the Ordesa National Park or surrounding areas.

Everyday there will be guided meditation sessions, in the morning and some nights before going to sleep. The best way to start and finish the day.

We practice simple techniques that are easy to carry on at home. We use universal elements to all of us as concentration objects, such as the breath, the body sensations, sounds, etc.

After the meditations we open a sharing circle for questions or to offer mindfulness tools and practices to guide us during the day.

This workshop will offer practical tools for self-care.

We will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature to learn how to recognize plants and harvest them respectfully.
Then we will learn how to organize them to dry and store (for herbal teas) and to prepare simple and effective medicinal preparations based on phytotherapy from ancestral culture: mother tinctures, oleates, ointments, etc.

Facilitates “Medicina para el alma” (medicine for the soul)

Medicina para el Alma is born from the deep commitment to care for the Earth and water, an essential element for life, health and emotional balance.

Using medicinal plants as a vehicle, we promote self-management of health and carry out environmental education and ecological awareness activities.

We love what we do, we enjoy our work enormously and we feel privileged to live in the middle of nature and to be able to harvest healthy wild plants that will then come into the lives of many people to lovingly accompany them in their healing processes.

In our workshops we share our path and our way of understanding life and the territory, we collect ancestral knowledge and put it in value in the current context.

We believe that plants are companions that communicate from the depths of being, jumping barriers and going inward to heal from the inside out, from the subtle to the physical. Being in contact with them allows us to be in connection with the environment that in turn takes care of us.

This understanding is what leads us to want to share this wisdom through workshops for the care and support of health, offering tools that allow each person to recognize their nature and recover their autonomy.

ALBA

Co-creator of Medicina para el Alma and facilitator of natural well-being and passionate about the transformative power of plants. Her path has been a self-taught exploration, guided by the connection with nature and her desire to understand the balance between body, mind and soul. Through the wisdom of plants and self-management practices of health, she accompanies others to discover their own medicine, cultivating a deep and conscious well-being in harmony with the Earth.

PAULA

Earth walker, wild woman, mother and apprentice of ancestral midwife.

Living in the mountains taught her the power of plants and invited her to experiment with them from respect, passion and admiration for these rooted beings. She is motivated by the care of the Earth that welcomes us and the desire to share everything she learns, to continue caring for Life.

Since she arrived in the Pyrenees, and left urban life behind, Paula has strived to become more wild every day, reduce her footprint as much as possible and become one with the Earth.

On the last day, we have a moment of silence to connect with nature, with yourself and with the group. Sharing a bowl of “living tea” we deepen all the richness that dwells in “the way of tea” (Cha Dao).

We give ourselves the opportunity to make from something ordinary something extraordinary and full of meaning.

In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sang means group or community. Satsang is a gathering to share our concerns, questions, and our deepest insights. It is also a time to meditate together, contemplate nature and sing meditative songs or mantras.

Summer Solstice

The night of June 21st is the shortest of the year, the maximum expression of light. It is from that light that we prepare to live the Summer that begins. So we invite you to celebrate this special date with us, to honor the light, to be grateful for what you have harvested so far in your year and share with us the joy of living.

Noche de San Juan

We will celebrate  with a ritual to get in tune with the energy of the Summer, to the rhythm of the energy of Nature and the ancestral fire, letting our voices expand and our bodies move freely with the music. We will honor and offer gratitude for what we have received up to this time of the year and celebrate life.

Karma Yoga is Yoga in action = finding skillfulness and integration in any action.

We bring the principles of Yoga in everything we do. We invite you to practice Karma Yoga by helping us with simple tasks of the house as fetching water from the fountain, chopping vegetables, drying dishes, etc.
